Templar Village, was later handed over to the Order of Christ. With prehistoric and roman remains, it was the council's place and its castle was built by King Sancho. Penha Garcia received Foral D. Afonso III on October 31, 1256 and continued until the time of D. Dinis, who in 1303 donated it to the Templars, in the person of his master Vasco Fernandes.
