Serra da Estrela is getting ready to receive the first snowflakes of this season. According to forecasts, the initial precipitation is already being felt, and the first snowflakes are expected for this Monday, October 30th.
The month of November also promises a greater intensity in snowfall, especially in the Torre area, with emphasis on next Thursday and Friday, November 2nd and 3rd.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) anticipates that the conditions conducive to snowfall will continue during the following Sunday and Monday, November 5th and 6th.
For this Monday, temperatures in the Tower will be rigorous, with a high of only 3 degrees Celsius and a low of minus 1 degree. In addition, IPMA predicts periods of clouds and rain throughout this week in the Serra da Estrela region.
